Anatoly Vasiliev
is the head of the studio,
a sculptor, a designer, a jeweller, and a cinematographer.
He graduated from the
All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography where he studied the plasticity
of images, composition and light, organization of artistic space and elements
of architecture, as well as the history of art (1976-1981).
He studied sculpture and
jewellery in the workshop of the sculptor Anatoly Korolev (1987 — 1989) and the
Alexander Rukavishnikov workshop under the supervision of the academician A.N.
Tugarinov.
Anatoly has created numerous art projects in the
field of sculpture, architecture, scenography, design, advertising, cinema and
photography. Currently some of his works can be found in private collections
and various companies in Russia and abroad.
Among its clients there
have been NINA RICCHI (France), NHK (Japan), the Bolshoi Theater, the City Hall
of Florence, the Georges Pompidou Center for Contemporary Art (Paris), the
Andrei Tarkovsky International Foundation for the Arts, the Rostropovich
Foundation, Faberlic, Hubert Givenchy, Burberry, the government of the
Leningrad region and various individual customers.
Anatoly Vasiliev is the
winner of a number of Russian and foreign awards.
Anatoly is a diplomate of various international and
Russian architectural competitions. His work has been recoginuzed by the New
York City Hall (based on the results of an international competition for a
9/11memorial), the Moscow City Hall (based on the results of a competition for
a memorial on Poklonnaya Hill), and the Polish Ministry of Culture (based on
the results of a competition for the “Smolensk Monument”).
Anatoly
is the holder of design patents in Germany, France, and the USA.
He is a member of the Union of Cinematographers of
Russia.
Anatoly is the Vice-President of the International Center
for the Arts (the Andrei Tarkovsky Foundation), Paris — Moscow — Florence.
